GHG Emissions

Near Term Scope 1,2, & 3

Goal: By 2030, achieve a 45% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions and a 25% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from 2020 base year.  

Progress: Reduced absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 40% in 2023 from 2020. Absolute scope 3 GHG emissions increased 19% from 2020. Our 2022 Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG reduction goals have been validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)

Long Term Scope 1,2, & 3

Goal: Reach net zero by 2050 in support of the Paris Climate Agreement.

Progress: Eight facilities are powered by 100% renewable energy, and five manufacturing sites have completed energy kaizens.

ISO Certifications

Goal: 100% of manufacturing sites achieve ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety certifications by 2026. 

Progress: 83% of manufacturing sites are ISO 14001 certified and 58% of manufacturing sites are ISO 45001 certified.

Conservation

Water

Goal: Achieve 100% implementation of water risk assessments and conservation plans at high-priority manufacturing sites by the end of 2026. 

Progress: Published Water Management Policy, completed water risk assessments for all manufacturing sites and identified four high-priority sites.

TRIR & DART

Workplace Safety

Goal: Achieve a Total Recordable Incident Rate of 0.34 and a Days Away, Restricted or Transferred rate of 0.28.

Progress: In 2023, achieved a TRIR of .36 (down 36% from 2021) and a DART of .21 (down 47% from 2021), and LTIFR of 0.78 (newly reported metric). 

Other Achievements

  • Reduced lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) over the last three years from 2.18 in 2021, to 2.01 in 2022, and 0.78 in 2023.
  • Decreased hazardous waste generation by 17% (120.6 metric tons in 2022 to 99.1 metric tons in 2023).
  • Conducted our first double materiality assessment that involved inputs from internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and prioritize specific sustainability issues and trends in the context of our evolving strategy and business landscape.

ANGI Alternative Fuels Hydrogen Refueling Dispenser

While electrification will power a significant portion of the future passenger car parc, a range of alternative fuels are likely to power commercial fleets. ANGI Energy Systems is applying its deep-rooted expertise in compressed gas to launch a suite of hydrogen refueling technologies. As 35 and 70 MPa fuel cell electric vehicles gain popularity, ANGI’s all-in-one hydrogen fueling systems offer the reliability, scalability, and performance needed for a seamless and safe transition.

Capturing fuel vapor is a critical step in curbing air pollution in high growth markets. In India, Gilbarco Veeder-Root shares its expertise with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to help educate the region’s major oil and gas companies about best practices to promote better air quality. Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s multi-year engagement is already seeing greener returns for India. Through consultation with the CPCB, lawmakers have now mandated vapor recovery systems for all major cities.

From construction and mining vehicles to long-haul and local delivery fleets, Teletrac Navman's telematics solutions use artificial intelligence to improve fleet fuel efficiency by up to 30%. Real-time GPS location tracking helps calculate the most efficient routes and optimize deliveries to minimize total miles driven. Automatic alerts address inefficient driver behaviors like excessive speed and idle times, and integrated sensors can immediately identify low tire pressures and recommended maintenance actions to ensure each vehicle is operating as efficiently as possible.

EVolve’s interoperable electric vehicle charging and energy management platform is facilitating the seamless transition to electric mobility around the globe. The platform integrates with retail fueling and fleet operators' mobility, energy distribution, and transmission systems, enabling rapid scaling across public, fleet, and home charging operations.

At Matco Tools, dedicated “Building the Dream” franchise programs demonstrate our commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity in our communities and help new franchisees build the futures they want. Matco’s Veterans Franchise Program gives veterans the opportunity to run their own business with exclusive incentives, including up to $10,000 to start a franchise. And the Diversity Franchise Program awards an $8,000 scholarship each month to help women and people of color realize their dream of owning a Matco Tools distributor business.

Vontier Cares

The Vontier Cares program provides employees one paid day off a year to volunteer, give back to the community, and advance social justice initiatives. Over 4,000 Vontier employees participate in virtual, in-person, individual, and group Vontier Cares activities annually, totaling over 32,000 volunteer hours a year. 

GOAL: Reach 90% employee participation rate for Vontier Cares community service by 2026. 

PROGRESS: Reached 54% employee participation rate in 2023.

Vontier Foundation

The Vontier Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that amplifies our impact where it’s needed most, with a focus on our giving pillars of acute disaster relief, climate and environmental initiatives, education, social justice and inclusion, and local community engagement. The Vontier Foundation has donated over $940,000 since its 2021 launch.

GOAL: Align 100% of Vontier Foundation donations to our giving pillars. 

PROGRESS: Aligned 100% of 2023 donations to giving pillars.

Vontier Scholarship Program

To support and invest in the world’s future leaders, the Vontier Scholarship Program provides scholarship awards to children of global employees who are pursuing a post-secondary education. Since the program’s launch, we have provided more than 46 global scholarships for a total of more than $142,000.

While most US convenience stores, gas stations, repair shops, and car washes have loyalty programs and regular customers, they lack the technology to transform customer data into actionable insights that could boost growth and competitiveness.

A new survey by Vontier finds that EV drivers prioritize safety in public charging stations, with nearly 80% willing to travel further for well-lit charging locations with security, often near stores and restaurants.

Mobility Ecosystem 4.0

The Mobility Ecosystem 4.0 eBook is a first of its kind piece exploring the mobility ecosystem, defined as the critical infrastructure, physical and digital, that touches people’s lives every day and where vehicles get fueled, charged, washed, serviced, and repaired, and travelers get their essentials: food, beverages, and other necessities. We disclose progress on our climate and water-related commitments and programs annually via CDP. We achieved a B rating on our Climate Change questionnaire since 2022 and responded to the water questionnaire for the first time in 2024.

2023 Scope 1, 2, and Energy Consumption Third-Party Verification Opinion

We obtain independent third-party verification of our Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption on an annual basis to ensure they are materially correct according to recognized standards.
