Chief People Officer

Amanda Thompson joined Vontier in March of 2024 as the Vice President of Total Rewards and quickly became Chief People Officer by May. She is an advocate for People and Culture, focusing on transforming companies into high-performing organizations with empathetic and driven leadership.

Before Vontier, Amanda was the Executive Vice President of People and Safety at U.S. Xpress. She led Safety and People Operations, overseeing safety, driver recruiting, strategic talent acquisition, organizational design, workforce planning, compliance, total rewards, talent development, and communications. Amanda championed equitable workplaces, chaired the Inclusion and Diversity Council, and supported five employee resource groups: Women in the Workplace, Multicultural, Veteran's, Pride, and Faith-based.

Amanda spent nearly two decades at U.S. Xpress in senior leadership roles, including Benefits Manager, Benefits and Compensation Director, Senior Human Resources Director, Vice President of Human Resources, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, and Chief People Officer. She also has a decade of HR experience in manufacturing at Synthetic Industries, Capitol USA, and Mohawk Industries.

A graduate of Leadership Chattanooga, Amanda holds certifications in Compensation Management, Health Benefits, Corporate Training, and Diversity. She earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Human Resources Management from Bryan College.

Outside work, Amanda enjoys time with her husband, Billy, and their son, Ty. She supports her son's baseball, and enjoys reading, painting, and outdoor activities.
